Took a break for a couple weeks from this sculpt, but am back at it again.
I added in a lot more detail and carved up the big stone skull so that it looks more old and weathered, and well stone-like. I still have to add in foliage and more moss to the skull. I also have to finish up Kong's feet and hands and remove a finger from each of the T-rex's hands. (Apparently they only had 2 per hand)

I've been working myself through a bit of a rut (seems a lot of sculptors have been lately) and am starting to come out the other side now. Got a new camera and decided to take a break from sculpting and just get back into my photography for a bit to clear my head. (refill my creativity tanks...so to speak) I got back into the Kong sculpt, and thought I'd post up where I am now after a couple more days of working on it here and there.
I still have a lot of details to finish on it. Kong's leg fur, hand details, teeth for both him and the T-rex's lower jaw and add in the Ann Darrow somehow to show scale. (I'm thinking tree stump with roots running onto the existing base...she could be standing or sitting on it in terror and awe..I dunno...we'll see) I also want to have Kong's feet displacing the earth as well...give him a bit more weight that way, and add those little details that I always do to make it special. (skulls and such)

We'll see how it turns out....
