!!KONG!! (wip)
February 27, 2005 - 5:34 PM

When I was a boy...King Kong was one of my first introductions to giant monsters. I've always wanted to do a cool sculpture of him, and now i think I'm ready. After the Charles and Teddy sculpt I just completed...I received lots of positive feedback...so figure that was a successful trial run.:)

Here's where I'm at so far....still a LONG way to go, but I'm determined to do Kong justice.

Eagle Sculpt
February 18, 2005 - 10:10 PM

I've been commissioned to do a sculpt of an eagle in flight. Tricky to be sure, but I think I can pull it off. I'm really trying to instill the feeling of soaring into this sculpt...I think I'm succeeding so far.

Here's a couple of "above shots" showing where I am so far after about 5 hours...

CASTILENE!
February 11, 2005 - 8:17 PM

Well, I finally broke down and bought some CASTILENE. I purchased it from my very talented, and always helpful friend Claudio Setti. Look up his online home MARTIAN FACTORY, and check out his store...he has pretty-much anything a sculptor could need.
Anyhow, this stuff is VERY different from Super Sculpey, but holds details VERY well.

I LOVE IT

For my first ever sculpt with castilene, I decided to sculpt a simple gorilla. (I figured the fur would be a good test)

Here's where I got to in just under 1 hour...

After ANOTHER hour...
