I'm still working on the family sculpt of the Incredibles for animated character practice, but here's the other sculpt I have started to work on. From Armature...to where I am now with it. (About 7 hours into it now) It's a reptile that I'm sculpting based on something I imagined up a bit ago...it's actually from the story I am writing (albeit slowly) and hopefully it'll come out every bit as good as I see it in my mind. More updates soon....

I saw the film...LOVED IT! I went back to see my old sculpt from a year ago, and realized that it needed some changes. I compared the screencapture from the original trailer against one from the film, and Pixar had made some subtle changes since the old pic, and I figured I better do the same with the sculpt. ;)

Got more changes to make, but the shoulders, gut, and face have been altered so far. Keep in mind that I'm not trying to copy the pic in the background exactly...it's more of a reference. I sculpted his head forward more, and have his fists closer to his face...I find it more "Come get it punk!" this way. I also got a good start on DASH going. GREAT PRACTICE! :D

Well, he's done! I added Tater "Tots", his moon boots, and nunchuks (pronounced "NUMCHUKS" by Napoleon) to the base, and I think I'm finally satisfied enough with the outcome.....I think. (No sculpt is EVER done they say)

I decided it would be a good challenge to sculpt the goofy looking character of Napoleon Dynamite from the film of the same name. I still have a long way to go, but I'm only a few hours into it...so...we will see if I pull it off.
