About

I was born to Canadian parents one cold December evening in 1973. Growing up in British Columbia, Canada was a very visually stimulating environment with plenty of wildlife, insects, and plant-life to feed my imagination.

As far back as I can remember I have always had a leaning towards the arts, but never truly pursued it for whatever reason. Watching old monster films like King Kong, the Sinbad films, Clash of the Titans and pretty much anything that Ray Harryhausen has his hand in just fascinated me. Seeing creatures that only can exist in imagination come to life on the screen before me was limitlessly inspirational to me. To this day I still attribute much of my imagination to those films.

In January of 2003 I decided to try my hand at sculpting my imagination in 3D with clay. I was hooked, THIS is what I want to do, and I immediately set out to learn all I can about the craft. Thanks to professionals I’ve spoken with online, (who were very unselfish with their knowledge…thanks guys) I’ve grown much as a sculptor just by practicing and studying the works of those before me.  Sculpting is a huge creative outlet, and has become an integral part of my life. Having a creative imagination, and being able to bring it out into the open for the world to see is a passion of mine. My goal is to show people things that they have never seen before, and present each piece with the best quality possible. I am constantly working to improve my skills and increase the quality of my work with each sculpt.

I use Super Sculpey, Castilene and wax as my chosen mediums, and find that each have their own qualities that suit specific pieces of work. I’d love to get into larger scale sculpts in Chavant Clay…like 1:1 head sculpts, and busts someday.
